Wednesday striker Gary Madine will sit out Saturday’s game with Brentford through suspension.

League One’s joint top-scorer already missed Saturday’s game at Wycombe Wanderers due to his sending-off at Carlisle United in the previous game and will now sit-out the visit of the Bees following an FA charge for improper conduct.

Madine confronted referee Paul Tierney following his dismissal at Brunton Park and has been banned for one match and fined £500 over his FA charge.

It means Ryan Lowe, a scorer on Saturday at Wycombe, and Chris O’Grady are set to continue in attack.

Madine will also be on thin ground when he’s back and available for action, with four yellow cards to his name this term. A fifth would result in another one-match ban.
