Lunt Wanted By Trio

Owls midfielder Kenny Lunt is being chased by three Championship clubs after failing to secure a first-team place at the club since arriving from Crewe in the summer.

Stoke City, Crystal Palace and Southampton are all set to re-kindle their interest in the midfielder in the January transfer window after missing out on his signature in the summer.

Lunt, a product of the famous Crewe youth set-up, has made just five starts for the Owls since his move to Hillsborough – a stat that has alerted other Championship clubs to his services.

And the Runcorn-born midfielder could leave the club on a loan deal before the Owls demand a significant transfer fee for his services.

But Lunt played the full 90 minutes for Wednesday in the 3-2 win against Queens Park Rangers at the weekend – and the new manager could well see the midfielder as a vital part of his plans at the club.
