Norwich City are said to be preparing a move for Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes.
Earlier today the rumour mill kicked into top gear as the Mirror published a piece suggesting that following the sale of youngster James Maddison to Leicester City, the Canaries were prepared to use some of that reported £24million to swoop for our 28-year-old striker.
They say that Norwich want to do a deal but they will not be looking to let us break even on the £10million we signed him for, but despite him not settling or really performing at Hillsborough you’d think we’d still be looking for a solid £7.5million given his obvious talent in front of goal even if we want to unload him.
A deal like, with the wage savings, would certainly take a chunk out of our financial concerns and hopefully avoid the need to sell others as is being reported this summer.
The speculation is thready and typical for the summer really but it could simply be a loan deal as fans pointed out when discussing the topic. It’s also not the first time Rhodes has been linked with Carrow Road so many believe it’s just a rehash by the red top.
The speculation (this summer's anyway) has been around for about two months.
Believe Norwich have enquired, Rhodes would no doubt like to come. He's on a shedload of money – so how much would Sheffield Wednesday be willing to forego? #ncfc #swfc https://t.co/H80QgcJVKr

I probably wouldn’t see a permanent switch as an option at all.

I’m sure we have been linked with him for the last 4 seasons

Liking the thought, though I would imagine his wages may be an issue? You think a deal could happen, realistically?

I heard a month ago this is a done deal on loan with City paying hefty wages and no loan fee.

Can’t see us taking 4m when we paid 10m

Wouldn’t be surprised to see little come of this, but given Rhodes is highly unlikely to feature under Jos Luhukay it would certainly be a boost if it turned into something concrete.
