Sheffield Wednesday fans have long known what Steven Fletcher brings to the pitch, but with our form dipping as we had to tighten the belts owing Financial Fair Play reasons and his own injury issues in recent times (added to other players) it’s fair to say he hasn’t always had it his own way at Hillsborough.

With the managerial swap shop we saw over the summer, one consistent in the 2019/20 campaign so far has been the performance levels of the 32-year-old Scottish international, and as we head towards this weekend’s Championship clash with Fulham, Fletcher boasts a record of four goals in seven appearances, and three goals in his last three showings.

Having only grabbed 12 points from a possible 21 so far, new manager Garry Monk will be looking for further improvements in our performances, but Fletcher has more than shown that he can be relied upon.

With the club Tweeting out a message on social media this week about the player, fans were delighted with his contribution so far, and were naturally hoping for even more as the weeks tick by.
