Wednesday boss Brian Laws was left giving his troops a ‘massive’ praise for their performance in the 1-1 draw with Bristol City yesterday.

Laws had been left criticising his men for their performances in recent weeks, notably the 4-1 hammering at Watford last time out in the Championship.

But the Owls were on the end of some praise after coming away from Ashton Gate, a tough place to go to at the best of times, with a well deserved point, and just as importantly hitting back from their Vicarage Road showing.

‘If you would have asked me before the game ‘would you be happy with a point?’ I’d have said yes,’ Laws told the official SWFC website.

‘But I’ve come away from that game disappointed we haven’t won it. And massive, massive praise goes to the players, they stuck to the game plan and worked their socks off to get a result and you can’t ask for anything more as a manager than that.’

Laws accused his men of failing to follow the game plan in the defeat at Watford, and it seems his criticism was taken on board by his side at Bristol.
