Boss Brian Laws has revealed that he’d like to keep midfield loan star Darren Potter at Hillsborough once his loan deal from Wolves is over.

Laws brought the former Liverpool man to S6 earlier this year to bolster the Owls’ midfield and he’s been impressed in his performances in the blue and white stripes.

And he’s told BBC Radio Sheffield that he’s keen to add Potter to his squad on a permanent basis next season.

‘He has done well and we would like to try and keep him,’ he said,

‘If we want to play good football we need players like him.’

‘If you look at his stats on Prozone he is higher than anyone else on the pitch and that shows his quality.’

With Wolves looking likely to achieve promotion to the Premier League it seems likely that Potter would be surplus to requirements at Molinuex.

It could mean the Owls could get their man at cutprice, and they’d also be the likely choice for the midfielder should any other clubs come in for his services.
