Owls boss Brian Laws is hopeful he will land another loan player before today’s deadline after completing the signing of Woking stopper Shwan Jalal.

Laws insisted he would be trying his best to dip in to the loan market following the suspensions to wingers Wade Small and Chris Brunt after the Coventry match – with a winger the top priority.

Out-of-favour Leeds United and former Brighton winger Seb Carole is one name being linked with a move to Hillsborough as cover for Small and Brunt, and as cover over the hectic schedule.

Liverpool youngster Craig Lindfield has also been watched by the Wednesday boss and has been tipped for a Hillsborough move following the rave reviews received from the Anfield youth set-up.

Any transfers must go through today or the Owls will have to wait until the transfer-window re-opens in January to make any further additions to their squad.
