It may or may not be good news for Owls fans – but the Kop Band will be back in place for this Saturday’s home clash with Swansea City.

The Band were, well, banned, from Hillsborough many years ago but have been given a chance by new chairman Lee Strafford to return for a one-off this weekend.

The decision is sure to spark differed opinions from Wednesdayites, with a divided opinion on the group playing at matches.

But they’ll take their place at the back of the Kop for the visit of the Swans as Wednesday look to re-kindle the relationship with the now England band.

Strafford told www.swfc.co.uk: ‘We are looking forward to welcoming the band back to the Kop because they had become synonymous with our club. We know that opinion on the band is divided but this is another example of the club re-establishing relationships with Wednesday family members.’

It’s certainly a bit of a turn up for the books, and it’ll give Saturday’s match that added bit of curiosity as to how their return will go down at S6.
