Wednesday loan star Graham Kavanagh has revealed he’d be interested in joining the Owls on a full deal if he has no future in the Premiership with Sunderland.

The former Cardiff and Stoke man enjoyed a winning debut with the Owls on Saturday to kick-start his one-month loan spell at Hillsborough.

And he insists that although he’d love to go back to Sunderland and ply his trade with the big boys in the Premiership, he’d more than consider joining the Owls on a full deal if Black Cats boss Roy Keane tells him his future lies elsewhere.

‘I could have sat in the reserves at Sunderland. Would I have been happy? No. The only way you feel like a footballer is to play on a Saturday and give your all, win or lose,’ he told the Sheffield Star.

‘Ideally I’d like to go back to and get back in the Premiership. If I was told over the next few weeks that situation wasn’t going to emerge, certainly I’d be looking to move, and if that was the case, there’s no reason why I wouldn’t be interested the situation at a huge club like this.’

The news follows fellow loan star Michael Johnson’s desire to stay at S6 after picking up the man-of-the-match gong for his star performance in the victory over Hull at the weekend.
