Okay, apologies for the slightly mid-leading headline, I couldn’t resist – and, it’s for a great cause when the Friends of Africa take on the Sheffield All Stars later this month.

Portsmouth’s Kanu will be one of a number of football stars and celebrities to take to the Hillsborough pitch for a charity game which will raise funds for the Children’s Hospital Charity, The Sodje Sports Foundation and Boots For Africa.

Kanu will line-up alongside Dwight Yorke, so Solid Crew’s MC Harvey, former Owl Deon Burton, ex-Eastenders star Dean Gaffney, and Akpo Sodje and five other Sodje’s for the Friends of Africa team.

But the line-up for the Sheffield All Stars side is yet to be announced for the match, which takes place on Sunday, July 26.

Tickets for the event are priced at £5 for adults and free for under-13’s, with tickets available from the Wednesday ticket office.

For more details on the event, and for the full line-up, visit www.swfc.co.uk.
