Former midfielder and bonafide Wednesday talisman Jose Semedo could find a new home closer to S6 than first thought. Earlier in the summer as reported on Vital Wednesday, Semedo was training with Portuguese sides after his release from The Owls.

Scunthorpe United have reportedly made a contract offer to defensive midfielder Jose Semedo who spent six years at Wednesday club making a total of 167 appearances and netting twice against Wycombe (League One) and Mansfield (EFL Cup).

The 32-year-old is thought to be considering similar offers from clubs in England, including Bury and Chesterfield but Scunthorpe have emerged as front runners as they bid to mount a promotion challenge in League One this season.

Iron boss Graham Alexander looking to add to his midfield options before the transfer window closes on August 31st.

He is currently training at home in his native Portugal, reportedly spending time with close friend, Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
