Wednesday winger Jermaine Johnson could be sidelined for up to two months due to a knee ligament problem, according to reports today.

The Jamaican was ruled out of Wednesday’s opening game of the season against Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday and is set for more time in the treatment room following his injury set-back.

The news is a blow to Owls boss Alan Irvine, althougn Wednesday got on well enough without JJ in their starting eleven at the weekend.

Gary Teale and Chris Sedgwick have both arrived at Hillsborough to bolster the number of wingers at the club, while Daniel Jones can also operate out wide.

Johnson has been linked with moves to both Blackpool and Nottingham Forest before the close of the transfer window but his injury problems will almost certainly see him remain an Owl.
