Owls winger Jermaine Johnson featured in the closing moments of Jamaica’s World Cup qualifier earlier this morning, but was unable to help his team through to the next stage of the competition.

JJ was an 82nd minute substitute earlier this morning in the National Stadium in Kingston as Jamaica recorded a fine 3-0 win against Canada. However, results elsewhere meant John Barnes’ Reggae Boyz will not reach the finals in South Africa, finishing third in their preliminary group behind Sven Goran Eriksson’s Mexico, and Honduras.

Let’s hope Jermaine returns in good spirits and ready for action.. injury worries over Etienne Esajas and Wade Small mean that Johnson is the man most likely to provide us with width and pace in the Championship games to come.

Jet-heeled rather than jet-lagged – that’ll do for us.
