Wednesday striker Francis Jeffers continued his comeback to full fitness after completing 70 minutes and scoring in the reserves’ 4-2 victory over Walsall last night.

The former Everton and Arsenal ‘fox in the box’ has been upping his return to full fitness, with a late appearance in the stalemate against Ipswich making his return to first team action.

And he could feature again when Wednesday make the long trip down to Charlton Athletic this weekend after coming through the reserve encounter unscathed and with more minutes under his belt.

Another plus point of the night was the performance of striker Leon Clarke, who impressed and scored two goals in the victory, Rocky Lekaj also continuing his fine reserve team form with the other goal.

And Wade Small, who also made his first first-team appearance of the season against Ipswich at the weekend, also completed 65 minutes to up his match fitness.
