Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed that Kieran Lee has been ‘ruled out’ of Saturday afternoon’s meeting with Queens Park Rangers. As per Yorkshire Live, the 32-year-old picked up a minor calf injury in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Swansea City and was left out of Wednesday’s 3-1 defeat to Preston North End.

Who did Sheffield Wednesday sign Josh Windass on loan from?

Garry Monk was initially being cautious leaving Lee out against Preston, but the midfielder hasn’t recovered in time to travel to Loftus Road. In his absence, Barry Bannan, Massimo Luongo, Joey Pelupessy and Alex Hunt will be available to start.

Ahead of Saturday’s clash, Wednesday are 16th in the Championship with 52 points from 42 games, coming off the back of three consecutive defeats. The Owls have picked up only one win from their last seven away from home, but they may be confident of getting a result given QPR have lost four of their last five.

The Londoners are only two places and one point better off in the table, so Monk’s men have a great opportunity to end their losing run and make up some ground on the sides in the top-half. They’ll have to do it without their £360k-rated midfielder, however.
