Hull City striker Matty Fryatt remains on Wednesday’s player recruitment radar in the January transfer window.

The former Leicester City man enjoyed a successful loan stint at Hillsborough earlier this season but returned to the Premier League club following the sacking of Dave Jones as Owls boss.

But now caretaker boss Stuart Gray is reported to be keen on bringing the striker back to S6 with the Tigers expected to let the 27-year-old go this month on the back of the signings of Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic.

Fryatt has featured for Hull five times since returning to the KC Stadium, scoring one goal in the 6-0 thrashing of Fulham in December.

He scored four goals in nine appearances for Wednesday, forging a strong relationship with fellow loan star Connor Wickham.

Wednesday may not be alone in tracking his services, however, with Championship rivals Leeds United and Nottingham Forest also understood to be interested in the goalscorer.
