Sheffield Wednesday are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Gary Hooper in the two all draw with Hull City at the weekend at Hillsborough was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Hooper was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Three points weren`t to be for Hooper and Sheffield Wednesday, but the forward did demonstrate his goalscoring prowess with both goals in the 2-2 draw with Hull City. Trailing 1-0, the 29-year-old was in the right place at the right time to turn the game on its head, before the Tigers salvaged a point at the death.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Hooper for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the point.

Full Team:

Mark Oxley (Southend United), Ben Davies (Preston North End), Sean Morrison (Cardiff City), Mark Little (Bolton Wanderers), Sergi Canos (Brentford), George Thorne (Derby County), Callum Connolly (Ipswich Town), Mo Barrow (Reading), Lee Gregory (Millwall), Gary Hooper (Sheffield Wednesday), Ellis Harrison (Bristol Rovers).

Manager – Lee Johnson (Bristol City).
