Wednesday’s early season injury woes have continued with the news that utility man Richard Hinds will be out of action for around three months with a broken leg.

The former Scunthorpe man picked up the injury – a fracture of the fibula – in the 4-1 defeat at Molineux at the weekend, adding to boss Brian Laws’ injury concerns.

Regular right-back Frank Simek is still out on the sidelines and isn’t ready for a return to action yet, leaving Laws looking at the loan market to plug the gap at the back.

Laws told the Sheffield Star: ‘We’ll be looking hopefully to bring somebody in.’

Steve Watson, who was used in midfield at the weekend, can also play at right-back and could fill in there for Saturday’s visit of Preston North End should Laws fail to find a replacement in time.
