Jeremy Helan has returned to Manchester City following his loan spell at Wednesday – but the Owls are understood to be keen on bringing the youngster back to Hillsborough.

The 20-year-old’s successful loan stint in S6 came to an end following the 0-0 stalemate against Wolves on Saturday and, for the meantime at least, the Frenchman has returned to the Premier League champions.

Owls boss Dave Jones is understood to be eager to bring Helan back to Wednesday in time for Saturday’s trip to Charlton Athletic in the league, however, and is working hard to get a deal done.

Helan made eleven appearances for the Owls and was generally involved in an upturn in Wednesday’s season, helping them climb out of the Championship’s bottom three.

He played well in his initial stint at left-back but shone when moved further forward and was used as a threatening attacking outlet, chipping in with one goal along the way.
