Whilst most eyes were on Sheffield Wednesday’s clash with Millwall last night, ahead of the game the club did confirm that Lucas Joao had penned a new deal at Hillsborough.

The 24-year-old striker has signed a new deal keeping him with us until the summer of 2021.
Having come in from Nacional back in the summer of 2015, the player has now gone on to make 48 starting appearances for us, with an additional 48 from the substitutes bench and in that time he’s returned 18 goals.
The Portuguese international has also spent time on loan out with Blackburn Rovers during his spell with us so far.
This news, coupled with the first victory of the Championship campaign last night certainly made it a good day for Sheffield Wednesday fans.
Wish Jos would play him over Nuhui

Everyone will be hoping that Wednesday gets looked back on as the day where fortunes changed and we can start looking forward again instead of backwards.
