On Saturday, Sheffield Wednesday welcomed Dutch side NAC Breda into our pre-season preparations after agreement had been struck between both sides for a friendly.
Owls claimed a 1-0 victory in their behind-closed-doors friendly with NAC Breda today. Atdhe Nuhiu with the goal.
The big positive was that Steven Fletcher got some minutes under his belt.#SWFC face Mansfield in their penultimate friendly on Tuesday. pic.twitter.com/AmRJJo5wXQ

The game was a behind closed doors affair in Manchester and details about the game are incredibly difficult to come by. Atdhe Nuhiu did score the game’s only goal in the 12th minute as the Owls picked up a third straight pre-season win under Jos Luhukay this summer. With ongoing transfer issues – namely, we’re trying to get rid of more than we are signing – the gaffer will be pleased with our on-pitch approach at least.
Don’t know the exact line-up but Hutchinson, Nuhiu, Bannan, Pelupessy, Reach, Fletcher, Lees, Pudil etc all played.

It is all about fitness though and wins will certainly help confidence in the group as the 2018/19 Championship campaign nears.
It’s believed Luhukay went with a strong line-up and Steven Fletcher did get game time as he continues his comeback from the knee injury he sustained, so that’s certainly a positive with ongoing concern around Gary Hooper and his likelihood of being ready for the big kick-off as he continues to struggle with the injury he picked up midway through last season.
