Wednesday were victorious over Leeds United at Hillsborough in another game packed with incident in front of the Sky Sports cameras. Against Hull City the referee was substituted, against Arsenal the Owls dominated Arsene Wenger side and now against Leeds, a goal was ruled out in bizarre circumstances. However, thanks to one man in particular Fernando Forestieri. He created both goals for Gary Hooper to put the game out of reach of Steve Evans side.

Forestieri spoke to swfc.co.uk after the game to dedicated the 2 – 0 win over Yorkshire rivals Leeds United to the Wednesday supporters and said:

“I am so happy because I think the team played with the right mentality, this is the good thing.

“This game is for the fans because they give a lot of support to us.

“I`m happy because the team played together and if we play like that we can do something important for this club.”

Forestieri, who departed the stadium on crutches as a precautionary measure is focused on pushing Wednesday towards the playoffs, he continued:

“I hope we can challenge for promotion, but right now we have to think about the next game which is Reading and keep this good thing going.”
