Vital Wednesday understands that five youngsters have been given pro deals at the club.

The ‘best we’ve ever had’ year failed to live up to their high billing this season, finishing bottom of their respective league, but five individual second years have done enough to turn pro.

Attacking midfielder, Liam Palmer of Worksop, is set to sign a two-year-deal with the club, whilst strikers Vadaine Oliver and Nathan Modest have been offered one-year deals.

Midfielders James Cottingham and Jack Barnett have also been offered a year to fulfill their potential.

Released youngsters Callum Harrison and Max Wragg have signed for Canadian club, Victoria Highlanders for the summer in a bid to forge out new careers for themselves.

The unfortunate youngsters who weren’t offered new contracts include Dale Newton, Patrick Meehan, Danny Kirkland, Josh Wilde and Tom Hall.
