On-loan Wednesday player Jeremy Helan has been handed a one-match suspension by the Football Association (FA) following the controversy in the weekend draw at Huddersfield Town
Helan, on-loan from Manchester City, should have received two yellow cards in the 0-0 stalemate on Saturday but the referee booked Michail Antonio by mistake when a second yellow should have been given to Helan.
The FA looked into the incident and Wednesday appealed against the booking handed to Antonio in error, resulting in a disciplinary panel transferring the card to the on-loan winger.
It means the Frenchman will miss Wednesday’s FA Cup Third Round clash against MK Dons at Hillsborough this Saturday.
