Transfer talk has heated up over a possible move for highly-rated Wednesday right-back Frank Simek, with the American linked with a £3m move to the Toffees today.

The former Arsenal trainee has been one of the Owls’ star performers since his arrival at the club and his performances last term has seen him linked with a number of Premiership clubs including Everton and Middlesbrough.

And today the Daily Mirror are reporting that David Moyes is lining up a £3m bid for the American international with the Owls unlikely to get in the way of such a large sum of money for a player they got on a free transfer back in 2005.

Wednesday have already been linked with a number of right-backs in recent months to fill in for Simek, but Owls boss Brian Laws will be keen to keep hold of one of his star men for next term unless the price is right.

The 22-year-old has made 83 league starts for the Owls since his arrival at S6 and has also achieved a call-up to the US national side and will take part in the Gold Cup next month.
