After a disappointing defeat to Millwall last weekend, Sheffield Wednesday had a quick turnaround on Tuesday evening as we welcomed Luton Town to Hillsborough for our next Championship clash.

Despite the recent disappointing result, it’s been a steady start under caretaker gaffer Lee Bullen and we have a return of six points from a possible nine, finding ourselves in sixth place in the second tier table, only a point behind the pack above us tied for top spot.

In many ways, we did to Luton what Millwall did to us in the last game, although it took until the 54th minute for Kadeem Harris to open the scoring. Despite the visitors better dominating, as the game drew to a close we created far more and almost balanced the statistics up.

All that mattered was a 1-0 victory though as we kept the clean sheet and we’re back to winning ways. We’re also at the top of the Championship table, at least for now.

Speaking to the BBC following the full time whistle, Bullen said of our reaction to the weekend.

“We had one of two decent spells in the first half. We didn’t really have the balance of play that we wanted. We had to change the way we structured the midfield three and it paid dividends really right from the start of the second half. Don’t underestimated how big that three points is today. They are no mugs. It was a dug out three points, it wasn’t fantastic. There’s not many times I’m going to be more pleased this season than that three points because it proves another side of what we have got in that changing room.”
