You expect nothing less from a Steel City derby, but the 30,000 fans crammed in to Bramall Lane are sure to witness another white hot atmosphere tonight.

As with the ‘bouncing’ atmosphere at Hillsborough for the Owls’ 2-0 victory earlier this season, Owls fans and Blades fans will no doubt make Bramall Lane a top atmosphere fit for the occassion tonight.

But the red and white half of the city have made extra preparations to ensure their side have a ’12th man’ for the clash, which the Blades will be desperate to win to make amends for their earlier season defeat.

The club have produced two ‘banners’ which are set to scroll over the Blades fans sitting in the Kop, while hundreds of red and white balloons will be given to fans in the main stand.

The match will also be the first derby clash since the death of Sheffield footballing legend Derek Dooley, who graced both clubs both on and off the pitch.

And as well as a minutes applause for the Owls’ goalscoring legend, Blades fans will hold up cards which spell out the legends name prior to the clash, which is sure to get applause from fans of both sides of the city.

So the Steel City derby is set to be another fine encounter, with the 3,000 travelling Wednesday fans (and the rest) sure to be showing the Blades fans who are the best set of supporters in the city…
