Following the speculation suggesting that right-back Jack Hunt was in Bristol yesterday to undergo a medical at City, his permanent switch to Ashton Gate was confirmed by Sheffield Wednesday a short time ago this morning.
Defender @Hunty32 has joined @BristolCity on a permanent transfer..

The 27-year-old joined Wednesday initially on a loan spell from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2015 and in the following January he completed his permanent switch to Hillsborough. Across both spells, the player made a total of 108 appearances for the club and more than played his part in our back to back Play-Off campaigns in 2015/16 and 2016/17 before our form took a decided turn.
The club themselves obviously wish him well for the future as he moves on and although fans were mixed, it seems the vast majority were happy to thank him for his service and his 100% attitude when it came to his efforts on the pitch – compared to some other players that won’t be mentioned, he certainly stood out on that front.
Good luck Jack. One from last season who can say he always gave 100% when others around him weren’t doing.

Good luck @Hunty32. City have a good player there who has been a big part of our play over last few seasons. #wawaw

Will always be welcomed back at Hillsborough

Gutted. All the best but not against us

All the best Jack – gutted to see you leave

Wish @Hunty32 all the best. Consistent performer over three seasons, two of which were very successful. He’s going to be very tough to replace. Sometimes you don’t know what you’ve got, til it’s gone.

Sorry to see him go, been a right workhorse for us. Always put a shift in.

Good luck jack. Gave your all every single game even when the going got tough be strange not seeing you bombing down that wing unselfishly for 90 minutes nonstop all the best x

Of equal, if not bigger concern in reality, where exactly is Jos Luhukay when it comes to strengthening the group especially if we’re moving on experienced players to save overburdening the club’s wallet this season?
That, of course, continues to be a huge concern for fans with the season edging ever nearer.
