Young Wednesday striker Barry Corr has agreed to join League One high-flyers Bristol City on a one month loan deal.

The Irishman has struggled for first team opportunities at Hillsborough this season – making just one substitute appearance after recovering from a thigh injury – and it’s hoped the youngster will get some much needed first-team experience at Ashton Gate.

City boss Gary Johnson told the official Bristol City site: ‘He’s six-foot, three inches tall and will offer us a big presence up front with Enoch and Brooks still sidelined through injury.

‘He’s a young lad who has just regained full fitness after a spell out through injury. He’ll arrive for training tomorrow and will be in the squad for Saturday.’

He added: ‘We’ve been looking at strikers for a while and started off with 50-odd names. We whittled that list down to ten names and then just a couple after some clubs wouldn’t let their players go. We’re pleased to have Barry on board.’

Corr will go straight in to the Robins side to face Owls’ neighbours Doncaster Rovers at the weekend to help cover for the injured Steve Brooker and Enoch Showumwi and will remain at Ashton Gate until November 28th.
