Contrary to reports on Vital earlier today, Lee Cook is reported to have pulled out of a loan move to Wednesday from QPR at the last minute.

Vital sources revealed a deal was done to bring the winger to S6 this afternoon and Radio Sheffield’s Seth Bennett has since revealed that a deal had been agreed to sign the 28-year-old.

But the former Fulham man is understood to have pulled out of a move at the last minute after discussions with the club.

Owls chairman Milan Mandaric was hopeful that there would be some good news regarding Cook when he spoke to Radio Sheffield earlier today.

It looks as though Alan Irvine will have to settle for the five signings he’s made in January with the transfer deadline having passed at 11pm tonight.

Wednesday could still return to try and bring Cook to Hillsborough on a short-term loan deal, but any deal with the former Fulham man now seems unlikely.
