Sheffield Wednesday fans were again lauding midfielder Barry Bannan following his performance and sublime set piece against Stoke City at Hillsborough on Saturday.
Having found ourselves two down inside of the opening 23 minutes, Marco Matias got us a goal back within minutes of them doubling their advantage and Wednesday got their just deserts with eight minutes remaining in normal time as Bannan curled in a wonderful freekick to give us a share of the spoils.
With it being the second goal of the 2018/19 Championship campaign, fans are clearly hoping that the influential player has now found his scoring boots for us as given his quality his goal return is one thing that you can be critical about.
When isn’t he class?

Cracking result today considering the circumstances. Thought Stoke's midfield looked very well, we didn't press them & they had loads of chances. We finished very strongly. Bannan unreal again, we need to think about the best midfield combination around him #swfc

He’d have been happy with the result against a side like that. Nearly nicked it at the end ????

Bannan did, of course, have his part to play in Matias’ goal, so his contribution to the match in this one isn’t in doubt and having picked up the Goal of the Month gong for his earlier strike against Millwall, fans will be wondering if this effort finds itself on the short-list at the end of the month as well.
