Scottish giants Celtic are the latest club to be linked with a swoop for highly-rated Wednesday goalkeeper Lee Grant, according to reports today.

The Owls number one has already been linked with moves to West Brom and Burnley this summer following Wednesday’s relegation to npower League One.

But Sky Sports are today reporting that the SPL club are lining up a move for the former England U21 to replace Artur Boruc, who left the club earlier this week for Fiorentina.

A bid of anything above £1.5m could be enough to grab Grant’s services given the Owls’ current financial situation.

But boss Alan Irvine will be keen to keep his men, given Grant has been Wednesday’s key player in recent campaigns.

The former Derby County stopper is currently recovering from a shoulder operation and has yet to feature in any of Wednesday’s pre-season friendlies.

He’s rated as 50-50 as to whether he’ll be fit and available to start Wednesday’s first game of the season, at home on Saturday, August 7.
