Owls and Scotland forward Steven Fletcher hasn’t endured the best of luck with head injuries whilst at S6. During the away loss at Derby on Saturday (Oct 29th) the tower scorer featured for 17 minutes and will now be assessed after a head clash with Darren Bent. With head injuries and concussions taken a lot more seriously in every sport from Athletes to Wrestling now more is known about the recovery process, this news will hardly be a surprise to many fans.

The Scot made a brave challenge at the back stick on defensive duty but paid the price and on Fletcher, Carlos Carvalhal speaking to swfc.co.uk said:

“The way that he plays is very brave, he is a gladiator. I must just say that I was very worried about him because he is a fighter.

“He got into that situation because he is a fighter. He saved a situation for us.

“To us it was not good either because the impact of that substitution was almost nil because the player played very few minutes.”

Carlos also issued updates on Keiren Westwood and Glenn Loovens who missed out on the Owls 18 man squad at the iPeo, as he continued:

“Loovens in the morning felt a fever and must stay out but these things are part of the game.

“We are here to solve these kind of things. Westwood did a scan, he mentioned that he still felt pain but we are analysing day by day.”
