The Owls came back from their 1-0 defeat against Preston by hammering four past the Spireites at S6 1SW. The goals from Hooper, Fletcher, Bannan and Hutchinson subsequently sent the Owls in to the 2nd Round Draw of the Carabao Cup.

The highlights of the whitewash are here:

That draw takes place this evening, after the culmination of the live Sky Sports fixture, Bury vs. Sunderland, the penultimate fixture in the round.

The Owls, along with local rivals, the Blunts, L**ds and some the others that don’t really count, will also be in the draw.

The Second Round brings the Premier League sides into the pot, so Wednesday have the opportunity to pull and defeat a top-flight scalp. The clubs competing in Europe (Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham are not in tonight’s draw, and will instead join in the third round).

Last year, the Owls had already crashed out by this point at the hands of Cambridge United. However, the year before that, Carlos’s first year in charge (seems a while ago!), the Owls went onto defeat Newcastle and shock Arsenal, before crashing out against Stoke in a cold, rainy midweek fixture.

Who do you want the Owls to draw this time? Let us know, down below!
