Wednesday duo Lewis Buxton and James O’Connor have both signed new deals to stay at the club.

The pair were two of three players to be offered new contracts at Hillsborough next season – Jermaine Johnson was the other – and they’ve both agreed to extend their stays.

Former Stoke City man Lewis Buxton has agreed to stay for another two years while midfielder O’Connor will remain at S6 for next season at least.

Buxton was thought to be attracting interest from some Championship clubs with his contract at Wednesday due to expire this summer, but has opted to remain at the club.

Winger Johnson is also expected to pen a new deal to remain at the club, pending issues surrounding his visa.
