Manager Steve Bruce’s introduction to life at Sheffield Wednesday and Hillsborough has gone well so far.

Since he took his place in the dugout, having been given a delay to starting the job for personal reasons, Bruce is unbeaten and with every passing game fans are noticing improvement, a better on pitch structure and performances have been given a lift based on that.

With a solid victory over Brentford in midweek, it’s now all eyes to next Monday’s Steel City against Chris Wilder’s high flying Sheffield United side. Bruce is clearly after a victory here, as speaking to Sky Sports during the buildup to the game this week, he admitted he has half an eye on a potential Play-Off push if we can keep our current form going from now until the end of the season.

“You can never give up that dream. It’s going to take an almighty effort but you can’t give up that hope. Can we win five or six from the next eight and give ourselves a chance? Who knows.”

The Play-Off spots have already become a little bit of a topic of discussion on social media given the six point gap, and whilst some will feel that’s a step too far this year – aim high and take the momentum through to next season.
