Fernando Forestieri impressed as Sheffield Wednesday drew 3-3 with Birmingham City on Saturday, leading to some supporters showering him in praise. The 30-year-old scored one and created another at St Andrew’s before being replaced by Connor Wickham and will be pleased with his efforts.
Where will Sheffield Wednesday finish in the Championship?
1st - 6th
7th - 14th
15th - 21th
22th - 24th
After Wednesday went 2-1 down in half an hour, Forestieri scored from the penalty spot after Tom Lees was brought down inside the box. After an hour, the Italian forward then assisted Jacob Murphy’s goal that put Wednesday 3-2 up. They couldn’t hold on for the win, but fans appreciated his efforts.
Much better attacking performance.. should really have score four or more. Forestieri looked good, Wickham made a huge difference when he came on. Murphy brilliant. Lee and Bannan did very well again. Not all doom and gloom for a change. #swfc

I’m going to try and look at the Positives. 1) Forestieri played a blinder. 2) Fox is back 3) Fletcher is back 4) Bannan played like Bannan of old 5) we scored 3 goals. Shame we couldn’t hang on. #swfc

Forestieri would’ve buried that one on one he had a brilliant game looks back to his best – goal and an assist and linked play very well – Bannan was massive as well and Lee had his best game all season. #swfc

Forestieri once again proving he’s the best player we have and bolding the question of why he has been exiled for so long. #swfc

Positives:
Forestieri, Harris, Murphy and Bannan looked good. Wickham did enough to start next game.Negatives:
Game management. Defensively. Not killing the game off #SWFC— Geoff SWFC (@GeoffSWFC) February 22, 2020
Against Birmingham, Forestieri played for 71 minutes, had 38 touches, won one aerial duel, created two chances, had two shots and scored one goal, completed 73.7% of his 19 passes, whipped in one cross, made one interception and drew two fouls.
The 30-year-old has made 15 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring and creating four goals. He’s making up for lost time after spending two months on the sidelines and is showing supporters what they’ve been missing.
Birmingham fan here, Forestieri is good but Bannen is the CLASS ACT.
