Sheffield Wednesday earned a share of the spoils against Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon, scoring late to level the game at Hillsborough. There were many players who put in good performances, but Alex Hunt was singled out by some for his impressive cameo appearance.
The 20-year-old was introduced from the bench in the 82nd minute and came away with a lot of praise from supporters on social media. Hunt has already been tipped for a bright future, but fans are already calling for him to start in Wednesday’s next game after getting a glimpse of his talent.

Hunt looks a tidy player, thought Da Cruz looked lively.
Shape of the team for the most part worked. We need to try and get Bannan on the ball higher up the pitch more often. #swfc— Simon Morris (@BigAl_simon) June 20, 2020
Harris out for Reach or Da Cruz next week. Give Wickham and Rhodes another go up front. Hunt for Lee in the middle.#swfc

Hunt for lee for next game.. plus I do like that sort of formation but we need some pace up front for it to work so I’d go da cruz/ Forestieri for Rhodes #swfc

Alex hunt.
Young talent
Better than most of first team ability and attitude wise.Result: probably frozen out of the first team, not mentored properly and leave on a free in 2 years.
Prove me wrong #swfc

Against Forest, Hunt played for eight minutes, had 14 touches, completed 100% of his 12 passes, attempted two long balls with 100% accuracy and had one dribble. Kieran Lee wasn’t at his best on Saturday, so Monk may have a decision to make whether to swap the 31-year-old for the 20-year-old against Bristol City (June 28).
Hunt has made four appearances for the first-team this season and could make his fifth after Saturday. With Sam Hutchinson and Kieran Lee out of contract at the end of June, the Sheffield-borm midfielder may be in line for a permanent spot next season.
