Sunderland’s Trinidad and Tobago winger Carlos Edwards has been linked with a loan move to Wednesday according to local reports in the North East.

The jet-heeled wideman has failed to feature in any squad for Roy Keane’s men this season and the Owls could well benefit from the Stadium of Light club loaning Edwards out to get regular first team football.

And Wednesday are said to be one of the club’s leading the race for his signature, with Cardiff City another Championship club interested in his services.

‘There has been interest in Carlos and I’ll have a chat with him,’ Keanr told the Sheilds Gazette.

Wednesday have already forged good links with the Black Cats after Keane allowed Graham Kavanagh to come on loan to S6 last season.

And with Wednesday already showing previous interest in the winger/right-back, they could well be lining up a bid to bolsted their ranks with the international.
