On Tuesday, Sheffield Wednesday fans got the news they’d all be waiting for as the club officially confirmed that goalkeeper Keiren Westwood has signed a new two year deal at Hillsborough.
Having fallen out of favour under former manager Jos Luhukay, it looked like the 34-year-old Republic of Ireland’s time at the club was up, but the arrival of Steve Bruce at the end of January, he returned to the starting XI and more than played his part as we ended the season strongly and had an outside run towards the Play-Offs.

With plenty of hints and expectations that a new deal had been agreed, it seemed only a matter of time before it was announced with ongoing Financial Fair Play soft embargo issues to be sidestepped, but that confirmation came this week much to the delight of everyone.
The first of many in the coming week and a bit all fans will be hoping and it is!
