Wednesday have confirmed a deal to extend defender Danny Batth’s loan until the end of the season.

As reported on Vital Wednesday earlier today, the 21-year-old will remain a vital part of Wednesday’s defence until May after the Owls and Wolverhampton Wanderers, his parent club, agreed an extension to his loan.

Batth had penned an initial six-month loan deal from Molineux at the start of the season – his second loan spell after featuring for the Owls towards the end of last season.

He told the official SWFC website: ‘I’m delighted. I was here at the back end of last season and the first half of this season so I’ve managed to be around while the team has developed and I think I’ve played a good part in that, so to extend the deal is something I’m happy about.’

Wednesday boss Gary Megson is now expected to turn his attentions to keeping influential wing wizard Ben Marshall, on-loan from Stoke City, beyond his initial sixth-month loan from the Premier League club.
