It was being reported yesterday that Sheffield Wednesday were interesting in bringing in Swedish international defender Alexander Milosevic during the current January transfer window.

Although new manager Steve Bruce isn’t yet in position owing to personal commitments, coaches Steve Agnew and Stephen Clemence are and with the technology available these days, it’s easy enough to communicate, so it’s not a great surprise to see some targets coming through on the rumour mill as if Bruce does want some fresh faces for February I’m sure he’s let the Board know.

How much wriggle room we have transfer spending wise with an eye on Financial Fair Play remains to be seen, but 26-year-old Milosevic is a free agent following the expiry of his contract with AIK in his homeland, so the claims now doing the rounds are at least in a believable ballpark.

With 42 goals conceded so far in 2018/19 Championship campaign, a defender is also the right area of the pitch to be looking at.

Two and a bit weeks to see if there’s any truth in it.
