It’s been reported in the build-up to Sheffield Wednesday’s game this evening against Middlesbrough at Hillsborough that attacker Marco Matias remains out of contention and Jos Luhukay expects him to be out of action for potentially the remainder of this month at least.
Sheffield Star journo Dom Howson took to social media yesterday to explain.
JL tells me Marco Matias is still out. Has been out for a month but JL admits he could be another 2-4 weeks away from returning. #SWFC

With the 29-year-old taking a fair few positives from the fans for his performances so far in 2018/19, three goals in nine appearances, he has been out of action since our victory over Aston Villa where he found the net to help us to the win, so hopefully the time frame will be closer to the two weeks as opposed to the four.
With Fernando Forestieri also missing for a bit longer with a hamstring injury, we are a little light up top again, but at least the injury situation now isn’t as long-term in nature as it was a while ago but these injuries need to clear up quickly so we’re not back at stage one and losing people at the rate we gain others back.
Shame as he was doing well….. won’t see him again

Sorry Matt, I know you like MM but how much more of his injury problems can we take. I say get him fit and off load in Jan

As the above comments imply from fans, Wednesday’s injury hangover and how that’s hampered us on the pitch as well off the pitch financially is still at the forefront of minds for many.
