Wednesdayites can expect to see a number of changes for the Owls’ Carling Cup tie with Blackpool at Hillsborough tomorrow night.

Owls boss Gary Megson has told BBC Radio Sheffield that he’s set to change his starting eleven for the first round clash – with one eye firmly on Saturday’s league match at Bournemouth.

New signing Chris O’Grady is unlikely to feature, but players such as Daniel Jones, James O’Connor and Jon Otsemobor could be given the nod to start.

Wednesday come up against the Cherries in a vital npower League One match on Saturday – just two days after the Owls’ League Cup game.

The decision to move the cup game to Thursday night for live Sky television coverage was made easier thanks to a sum of around £100,000 boosting the club’s coffers.

With promotion from League One a priority this season, Megson has made Saturday’s clash with Bournemouth a priority, something which will show in the starting eleven that takes to the pitch in S6 tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Megson has confirmed that midfielder Giles Coke has returned to training.
