Former Wednesday goalkeeper Chris Adamson has been linked with a swift return to action with League Two club Stockport County showing an interest.

Our sister site, Vital Stockport County brought the news to our attention following the news that County boss Jim Gannon revealed to the Stockport Express that two ‘keepers were top of his priority list.

And Adamson, who fell out of favour with Wednesday boss Brian Laws, is rumoured to be one of the stoppers to fill the gaps at Edgeley Park.

‘I’m expecting to complete contractual details for two of the players this week. Once the new boys join us we will have a squad that will be competitive next season in League Two, I`m confident of that.’ Gannon said.

The Ashington born goalkeeper has made just 32 first team appearances in his career despite being 28 years of age, having struggled to grab the number one jersey at numerous clubs.

He made just nine league starts during his two year stint with the Owls after spending loan deals at Halesowen, Plymouth, Halifax, Mansfield and IK Brage since coming though the ranks at West Brom.
