Liam Palmer has heavily criticised by supporters after Sheffield Wednesday’s 2-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, having been somewhat culpable for the Owls conceding a penalty before being sent off at the death.
With the game at 1-1, Palmer watched an aerial ball go over his head in the area, resulting in Matheus Pereira being in on goal and eventually felled by Keiren Westwood.
Supporters blamed Palmer, Westwood and Dominic Iorfa for the penalty Charlie Austin eventually converted, but the 28-year-old’s red card was his fault alone. Palmer needlessly lunged into a tackle on Grady Diangana and was given a straight red card.
Palmer and Murphy have to go. #swfc always a liability.

Palmer has made 240 appearances in all competitions for Wednesday, scoring and creating 10 goals. The right-back has played 15 times this season, but he’ll now miss Wednesday’s meeting with Birmingham City.
How will Sheffield Wednesday fare against Birmingham City?
Win
Draw
Lose
The Owls’ late collapse ruined what was an improved second-half performance, and the result has become all too familiar in recent weeks. Wednesday are winless in their last four games, having picked up only two points for their troubles, so they desperately need a result in midweek.
