Sheffield Wednesday’s Owls In The Park event proved to be a great success at the weekend as fans enjoyed the family day out at Hillsborough Park.
The showpiece event on Sunday saw players, staff and management from the club mix and mingle with the fanbase and a new idea this year saw young supporters get the opportunity to enjoy a kickabout with their first team squad and it was, without doubt, a spectacular success.
A video of the day’s activities can be seen below.
A great touch and initiative from the club and it certainly helps build optimism ahead of the coming campaign with such a slow transfer window so far at Hillsborough. It certainly did the trick for those in attendance and the social media comments speak for themselves – especially when it comes to that previously mentioned kickabout for those fans who continue to have their whole lives ahead of them and yet untouched by taxes and other evils of the modern world.
Goalkeeper Keiren Westwood kicked things off with a response.
I Had a great day yesterday having a kick about with everyone. ????⚽️ it was abit of craic and good fun. Plenty of smiles on loads of faces which was brilliant to see. Hope everyone had a good time ???????? @swfc #owlsinthepark https://t.co/flhjUHEXEA

Westwood was far from alone, as Fernando Forestieri was tweeting after the even as well and he wasn’t alone, but you can find those for yourself!
