Veteran midfielder Ross Wallace has finally secured himself a new club for the 2018/19 campaign following his departure from Sheffield Wednesday over the summer when his contract naturally expired.
The 33-year-old made the switch to us as a free agent from Burnley back in the summer of 2015 and across his three seasons at Hillsborough, he notched up 105 starting appearances with an additional 19 showings from the substitutes bench. In that time he contributed 13 goals to our cause.

The one time Scottish international was hugely liked and respected at the club – although he had some moments, but who doesn’t in football, and as news broke that he had now agreed a new deal with League One side Fleetwood Town, Owls fans were quick to react on social media and the messages were hugely positive, wishing him all the best for his future.

Known for his ability from set pieces, he’ll certainly be an addition for the Cod Army and it should certainly be an experience with Joey Barton now being their manager this season. Former Burnley teammates Chris Long and Dean Marney have already joined Barton at the club, himself a recent Burnley man, so it shouldn’t take long for him to settle in at all.
