Travelling Sheffield Wednesday fans were treated to quite an event at Deepdale as we faced off against Preston North End.

We were looking to continue our form and end the 2018/19 campaign strongly so manager Steve Bruce could take some momentum through to next season given how big a summer we now face, and initially, it all went wrong.

With Barry Bannan getting on the scoresheet to make it 2-1, they quickly restored a two goal advantage. We weren’t done though and further goals from Fernando Forestieri and Atdhe Nuhiu salvaged a point as we completed the comeback to make it 3-3. It could’ve been more had we not been reduced to ten men when Dominic Iorfa was sent off, but we’ll take the point and move on.

Given the performance statistics website Whoscored were only ever going to have one Man of the Match, and it was predictably Bannan with a score of 8.31.

Completing the top five best performers on the day were Nuhiu (8.01), Forestieri (7.97), Tom Lees (7.68) and Steven Fletcher (7.36).

Michael Hector and Marco Matias also received scores of seven or above for their efforts and we continue to show we’re a different beast under Bruce.
