Having had a very good start to life under caretaker gaffer Lee Bullen, there was a small dose of reality on Saturday afternoon as we travelled to The Den to face Millwall.

Everyone knew what sort of game it would be and unfortunately for us, they got the breakthrough in the 37th minute to open the scoring, and given our attacking strengths, being reduced to ten men to make Millwall even more defensive on the day seriously counted against us in what ultimately became a 1-0 defeat despite us utterly dominating possession and chances.

Statistics website Whoscored rather predictably gave us poor player ratings after that one, but second half substitute Barry Bannan took Man of the Match with a score of 7.07.

Completing the top five from the day were Kadeem Harris (7.04), Sam Hutchinson (6.77), Adam Reach (6.74) and Steven Fletcher (6.71).

The fact Millwall’s goalkeeper, Bartosz Bialkowski, took their star man award with a score of 8.67 probably tells you everything you need to know about the tie.
